Maine (USA); 1988/89 (five weeks): Together with Dr. Linda Fujie: Cooperative project with Colby College (Waterville, ME): Traditional music in Maine—hymns and gospels of the Shaker community; yodeling cowboy music; country music; Passamoquoddy and Penobscot Indians; Irish Music; French-Canadian Music; Bluegrass Bands; Armenian and Turkish Music.

Japan, 1998 (5 weeks): together with my wife Dr. Linda Fujie. Documentation of shakuhachi, shomyo, shamisen, taiko-drums, sake songs, itako.
